Note: I am only adding links (and updating my totals) when I make a blog post or YouTube video about a coin. As you can imagine, I am behind on making videos on the standard maple leaves (the boring ones). I will add them eventually, don't worry!

ReplyDeleteSimon, I have the 1998 10 Oz on the list. The f12 are NOT official Silver Maple Leaf coins. I contacted the mint and they do not produce those coins, it is done by an external company with no affiliation to the mint.
ReplyDeleteMai, only the 2008 coin if official. The 2009 may likely be aftermarket.
ReplyDeleteRichard, while a number of the coins you mention are silver coints (some .9999 pure) they are not Silver Maple Leaf coins. The Silver Maple Leaf collection is a subset of the entire Royal Canadian Mint silver coin collection which includes many, many coins.
ReplyDeleteHi! Just came across this blog when looking up the privy mark versions of the SMP. It's been very useful, thanks!
ReplyDeleteBTW, two items...
On the link above to the 2000 Fireworks privy Maple Leaf, you list the weight as "31.39g (1 troy ounce)". A troy ounce is actually 31.103g.
Also, I just wanted to confirm something you said above. The post-2008 gilded Maple Leaf coins ARE all aftermarket products. They are very beautiful mind you, but they're not produced by the RCM. You can find the same exact type of gilding on American Silver Eagles as well.
One of the ways to tell is that on most of the aftermarket gilded coins I've seen, the edges and rims are gilded as well, although that's obviously not a certainty.
I don't see the 1989 Proof
